  • Getting the most out of the Motorola Atrix Battery

One of the longer lasting batteries comes equipped with the Motorola ATRIX and people still feel like they don't have enough battery power on their hands. The life of your phone’s battery will greatly depend on how you use your phone. If you rarely use the Atrix for anything other than making calls, your phone may last days before it needs to be recharged. However, if you spend a lot of time browsing the web, playing games, running apps, and/or watching videos, the battery will go out faster than usual. Any activity that requires computer-like capabilities will use a lot of battery power. It's a good thing that there's many other ways to use the phone with a longer lasting battery.

If you have just purchased your Atrix, you should know that your Motorola Atrix battery is not fully charged. Before using the phone, connect the phone to its charger and wait until the battery is up to full capacity. After the battery is filled up, keep using your ATRIX until it turns off on its own due to an empty battery. Resist the urge to charge your phone every time that the battery is at 50% or more power. It usually takes about a few full charging cycles for the battery to be fully optimized.

Try adjusting your phone's settings to save battery if you had your phone for a long time. First, adjust the brightness of your display. If your phone's display is brighter, it'll drain the battery faster. Also make sure to frequently clear your notifications, close applications after you are done with them, and turn off your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when you aren’t using these functions.

The Motorola Atrix also offers a “Battery Manager” feature. You can find this feature in your “Settings.” The Battery Manager offers user’s two different settings that can help them conserve battery power. This first is called “Auto Brightness.” This specific setting automatically darkens the screen when the battery is running low. The second setting is called “Data Timeout.” This setting will stop all background updates when you aren’t using your phone. You may also change your “Battery Profile.” The default profile is the “Nighttime Saver” setting. If you want to extend your battery life, you can choose the “Maximum Battery Saver” profile. If you choose the maximum setting, your phone will stop all updates and dim the display after 15 minutes of not using your phone. This will conserve battery power every time you clip your phone into your Motorola Atrix holster.

There are also applications that can help Atrix users save power. Apps, like the JuiceDefender, Advanced Task Manager, and Green Power Battery Saver, will make your battery last longer. You can also make sure that your battery is always charged by purchasing a few extra Motorola Atrix accessories, like a car charger. This way, your phone should be able to be charged anytime before it begins run critically low on power.
